PRE-REQUIREMENTS

Visitors and tourists wishing to be married in St. Vincent and the Grenadines must be resident here for a minimum of one day before a Marriage Ceremony (civil or church) can take place.

Marriage Licence

A special licence (a Governor General’s licence) can be obtained from the Ministry of Justice. This licence is valid for three months only.

An ordinary licence can be obtained from the Registrar, but a notice of the ceremony must be published in the Registry for a minimum of seven days. Visitors must be in the country 8 days prior to application for license.

For license you are required to present your passport in person to the Registry office. A death certificate or the decree absolute must also be presented if either party has been widowed or divorced.

This is one of the few countries where blood tests are not required. SVG Dream Weddings will assist you with these arrangements.
